  • When submitting a 311 request, you may provide photos or media. These are uploaded to the 311 service in your jurisdiction and are publicly accessible as part of the request.
  • Photos may be analyzed by automated tools, such as AI, to assist in categorizing and describing the request.

b) Location Data

  • The App collects your GPS location only when submitting a request. This ensures the accuracy of the reported location.
  • Location data is collected only with your explicit consent at the time of submission.

c) Usernames and Comments

  • If you leave comments, your username will be displayed publicly alongside the comment. Usernames are chosen by you and are not linked to personally identifiable information like your name, email, or phone number.

d) Usage Analytics

  • We may track app usage activity, including in-app actions, page visits, and duration of use. This data helps us improve app functionality and user experience.

e) Contact Information

  • We do not collect your name or phone number unless explicitly provided for a specific 311 service, such as requesting a car be towed for blocking your driveway. This information is required by the responding officer and submitted directly to 311. It is not stored on our servers after submission.

2. Public Nature of Submitted Data

All data submitted through the App, including photos, descriptions, locations, and comments, is public record. Once submitted, this data may be accessible through the 311 service or other public records channels.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

a) Retention Policy

  • Data submitted through the app is retained indefinitely on our servers unless specifically stated otherwise.

b) Account Deletion

  • You may delete your account at any time through the App. Upon deletion, all associated data (e.g., comments and usernames) will be permanently removed.
  • Note: Submitted 311 requests cannot be deleted as they become part of the public record upon submission.

4. Security Measures

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no system can guarantee complete security. Use secure networks when accessing the App.

5. Your Rights and Choices

a) Control Over Data

  • You have the right to control permissions, such as GPS access, through your device's settings.
  • Account deletion is available directly in the App.

b) Transparency

  • We do not collect your name, phone number, email, or physical address unless you voluntarily provide it for a specific request type.
  • Data shared with 311 that includes personal contact info is not retained by Solve SF servers.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Please review this policy regularly for updates.
